If I we're to write a mod to check if theirs any nicked users in a game, would this break MCCI's rules?

Going to say yes, it would break the rules, because it doesn't explicitly fit into any category of our Approved Mods Guide. The purpose of the disguise system is just that, so to use a mod that reveals nicked players would most likely not be approved.

Yes. Nicks exist for a reason, and it doesn’t fit into any of the categories in the allowed mods list so I think you probably shouldn’t use it :)
