Upcoming MCC Island economy changes & Game Pass sale!

Hello!

Very soon (in our next major patch), MCC Island will be getting a large overhaul of its economy, along with a bunch of other exciting changes (More on this soon!)
Because of this, there will be a few changes that we want to let you know about beforehand, so let’s dive into them;

đź’° Game Passes (30% Off Sale!)

GamePassThumb.png

We weren't 100% happy with the current position that Game Passes play in the MCC Island economy, so our next major patch will have the following changes:
  • Double-bundles will be split into separate individual packages on our webstore.
  • Game Passes will no longer be purchasable for Gems in-game.
  • Game Passes will be made 28% cheaper on the webstore than our current prices.
  • Game Passes will change from 850 → 600 gem cost in-game until the patch drops (Which the gem purchasing option will then be removed)
  • Starting TODAY (until the patch), Game Passes will go on a 30% off Sale in preparation for this upcoming change (So buying now will actually save you a little bit of $ before the patch drops!).
We decided that Game Passes would no longer be obtainable for gems strictly because we weren’t happy that the main way the majority of players were choosing to interact with the Gem Economy was by saving up for those passes. We want gems to flow through the economy more freely, especially as we add even more uses for them, and having one main thing to save for ruins that in a way we didn’t anticipate.

⚔️ Battle Pass

Aside from a bunch of changes that we’ll explain when the new Battle Pass drops, one major change is that;
  • We’ll be moving the Parkour Warrior Daily Challenge access from the Battle Pass to the upcoming MCC+ subscription instead.
By having Parkour Warrior Daily access locked behind the Battle Pass, it created a silly situation where as the season progressed, it became less and less valuable to pick up the Battle Pass if you were aiming for the Parkour Warrior Daily challenge access.

We don’t think this is great for players, and it should be instead governed by a rank where everyone gets the exact same amount of access time, as it’s based on when you buy it, rather than per season.

🎽 Cosmetics moving to Legacy obtainments!

With the next Battle Pass Season almost here, there’ll be a bunch of cosmetics moving into new obtainable legacy pools.

ALL Season 1 Cosmetics from the Crate Machine and Pose Shop, Battlepass, and Squidtek Event’s Shop & Clam Machine Cosmetics are moving to a Legacy Crate Pool, which will be obtainable through a new Legacy Crate Machine. To be able to make pulls on this, you’ll need Legacy Crate Keys, which will be craftable in the Fusion Forge using a very expensive recipe!

However, certain cosmetics won’t be available through this method and will be completely unobtainable going forward. These cosmetics will now shift from Trophies to Legacy Trophies, which we are renaming soon to Bonus Trophies to reduce confusion.
  • Lifeguard Bundle (Season 1)
    • Sun Visor (Lifeguard) Hat
    • Rescue Paddle Accessory
    • Lifebuoy Cloak
  • Ultimate Battle Pass Scuba Set
    • Scuba Headgear Hat
    • Scuba Watch Accessory
    • Scuba Tank Cloak
  • Squidtek Agent Summer Bundle
    • Squidtek Agent Hat
    • Hydroblaster (Squidtek) Accessory
    • Aquatank Cloak
  • Battle Pass Season 1 Cloaks:
    • Jellyfish Tendrils
    • Poseidon’s Cloak

That covers all for now, but there are a TON of changes coming with our next MCC Island major patch, and I can't wait to share them!

One of our upcoming features are Private Lobbies, which we did a bit of a deep-dive in a video you can watch here:

Enjoy![/b][/b]

I was very happy spending money on this game, I even have grand champion royale in game and bought the passes for HITW and PKW because even though the value proposition is low, I wanted more progression in the modes that I enjoy. But if you guys are going to just go full anti-consumer to try and milk players for everything they are worth I won't be spending another dime on this server.
Fair point! EA sound

I am not even talking about just the gem change to the game passes, by splitting up the game passes from the current double bundles, buying the passes for a game will be twice as expensive. Even after the 28% discount it will still be significantly more expensive than it is currently, and already the passes have very little value for the cost. At almost double the price there will literally be no reason to buy game passes. Ever.
No, obviously if they're individual we'll half their prices, THEN reduce by 28%. The bundles contain two.

Game pass bundles are $25 right now, meaning it would be $12.50 per pass. We'd be reducing that $12.50 by 28%.

I like the ability to get legacy items, but moving the daily challenge to MCC+ is, in my opinion, a terrible idea. The chief reason I and quite a few others saved gems for the next battle pass (aside from the banger cosmetics) is to play the Parkour Warrior daily challenge, since it gives replayability to Dojo where there hardly is otherwise and allowed players to potentially get 1k+ XP per day from getting an expert completion. Now, progression is even more "pay-to-win" than before since you can no longer grind for the daily challenge.

In addition, getting trophies for the "milestone badges" from Parkour Warrior Dojo, such as the Leaper badges, will be nigh impossible to get in a timely manner for free to play players, as they require completions on unique courses.

A similarly terrible idea mentioned here is the removal of the ability to pay for game passes for gems. Not only are you removing an incentive for free-to-play players to grind on the server, but you are also removing one of the biggest incentives to buy gems in the first place. This is simply a headscratcher to me, as I don't see why you'd remove an incentive for one of the more "accessible" monetization methods.
I litterally could not agree more,
the whole reason why I spent so much time gathering gems is for the battle pass, and now the gems have close to no use.
The MCC+ monthly subsription - Is a good idea, as long as it provides non-vital perks to the experience itself,
and to be fair it didn't seem like a great idea from the start, as Noxcrew will probably add more and more perks to it, and now they've added the daily parkour to that list. I don't like the idea of making a part of the server being held under a monthly payment.

Overall, I don't think anybody likes the p2w mechanics MCCI is starting to develop significantly more of, and I really want f2p players to be able to enjoy the full MCCI experience for free, We can only hope that Noxcrew cancels that change due to feedback,
thank you for your time.

This all seems absolutely terrible for players. I really hope you guys re-think these changes. It will now cost an insane amount of money to get the battle passes for games when they are already pretty expensive compared to what you actually get. And locking the PKW daily challenge behind yet another higher tier premium rank (of which there are already 3, the highest being 70$) just seems like a change made purely out of sheer greed. That brings the cost to actually access them from 25$ to over 70$. These changes just seem to be you spitting in the faces of players who are actually willing to support the server and would be horrible if they go through.

Where are you getting this information from?

MCC+ is a completely separate timed rank that will not require any other rank.

Game Passes are getting split from the bundles, and their costs will be exactly half of what the bundles cost (but with an additional 28% cost reduction).

That is definitely not obvious when every other change announced here is so unashamedly anti-consumer. I am glad you guys are at least doing one good thing.

Yeah, I had misunderstood MCCI+ because I hadn't seen the previous information on it, so that was an overreaction on my part.

What reason is there to withhold the information about the other Battle Pass changes?
Seems a bit silly to say you're removing one of the main incentives of the Battle Pass and then not reveal a potential replacement for it - just makes the players mad (me included).

$9 per piece is a lot more acceptable, tho I don't think that should exclude from any potential sales in the future.
For what they offer, that price still might be a little high for some.

This is a cosmetic economy. It is how we make money, so we can provide you with our gameplay, ALL of which is free.
Even if you want to point at the daily challenge for PKW as not being cosmetic, PKW itself is still free, the daily challenge is just an extra course each day, and that is something we decided to monetize
Issue with changing the daily challenge for PKW from the battle pass to MCC+ is that it has been announced only days before the battle pass refreshes meaning people, including myself, who have saved gems that could have been spent on game passes or other cosmetics now have to decide if they wan't to buy MCC+ to play the daily courses or not, and now the gems we have saved can't be spent on game passes either, and only other cosmetics.

Idk this seems very out of touch with the way the core playerbase engages with PKW Dojo. It being a cosmetic economy and you charging for optional stuff is something I support in general, but I feel like it's very understandable here that the community is more than unhappy about a gameplay aspect that was previously accessible through grinding the game now being fully locked behind a paywall.

The context for how the battlepass system is changing is pretty tied to all the new content and changes coming in our next update, so we just can't say more about it yet, but wanted to give this heads up now.
