💍 Silver returns to MCC Island
⚒️ Changes to Scavenging and Royal Donations
👛 Streamlining Economy Updates!
🪡 Patch fixes galore!

Let's hit the seven seas and find out what all this silver has in store!

The Return of Silver💍

[2] Silver.png

After much discussion and debate, we found that the addition of Quest Spirits and Knick Knax tickets had made the economy of the server too complicated and confusing.

To simplify things, we’re removing both Quest Spirits and Knick Knax Tickets and replacing them with a single streamlined currency - Silver!

  • Daily Quests and Quest Scrolls now give Silver instead of Quest Spirits.
    • You may have to reroll any existing active quests and scrolls to see these changes.
  • Scavenging items at the Scavenger’s Hideout now give Silver instead of Knick Knax tickets.
  • Existing Quest Spirits and Knick Knax Tickets can be converted into Silver by scavenging them.

Spending that silver! 💸

So Silver’s back? What can I do with it?

Well, the Spirit Shop has rebranded into Silver Central, offering the same wares as before, but now costing Silver instead of Spirit!

We’ve also removed the Knick Knax shop and replaced it with another Silver Central store, giving you access to the same items as before, just in a more straight forward format.

Scavenging and Royal Donations Fusion! 👑

[4] The-King.png

Speaking of making things simpler, Scavenging and Royal Donations are no longer separate systems! Cosmetics you scavenge are now sent straight to the Scavenger King’s Collection.

As a thank you to those who donated cosmetics to the Scavenger King already, he’s decided to give everyone 250 Silver per Royal Reputation they earned before this update. He’s such a generous King!

  • Any Cosmetic you scavenge will now give you both Royal Reputation and Silver!
  • Once you have scavenged the same cosmetic 10 times, additional scavenges for it will no longer give you any Royal Reputation, but will still give you Silver.

Economy Changes 💰

To bring about this economy shift, some other changes have been made.

  • When scavenged, Relics now give an increased amount of coins, and Material Dust instead of Knick Knax Tickets.
  • Relic Crates no longer contain bonus Knick Knax Tickets, and instead give you a second Relic Blueprint of a lower rarity!
    • For example, a Rare Relic Crate now gives you a Rare Relic Blueprint and an Uncommon Relic Blueprint.
  • Currency Pouches have been removed from Silver Central to prevent a direct Silver → Coin exchange. Consider purchasing Relic Crates instead!
  • Treasure Chests no longer give Knick Knax Tickets.
  • Boosted Quests Perk and Additional Questing Slots now cost Key Shards instead of Quest Spirit to upgrade.
  • Mountain Climber Cosmetics now cost Key Shards in place of Quest Spirit to purchase.
  • Royal Outfit Cosmetics no longer have Quest Spirit as part of their costs.

Bashing those Bug [Fixes] 🐛

We’ve also managed to squeeze in a bunch of bug fixes in this patch too, so thanks for all your feedback about these as well!

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the Category icons in the Wardrobe to display the Chroma count out of the amount of cosmetics you have unlocked, rather than the amount that exist.
  • Category icons in the Wardrobe no longer continue flashing after you claim all of the cosmetics in the category.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some cosmetics in the Wardrobe to display outside of their alphabetical order.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause Currency Pouches (and other openable items) to show duplicate “You receive: XYZ” messages and action bar updates.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause you to make multiple purchases at a shop if you press the purchase button multiple times.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause orbs to duplicate when thrown through teammates. They now properly pass through teammates.
  • Fixed an issue where the AFK prevention in games would continuously trigger after you got caught being AFK once.
  • Possibly fixed an issue where queuing was prevented for a party member allegedly being offline even when not being in a party. This has ties to a larger issue where players are incorrectly seen as offline which we are trying to address.
  • Fixed some client-side lag issues in Parkour Warrior: Survivor on 1.20.4.
  • Fixed skin layers disappearing on 1.20.2-1.20.4 again (the bug snuck back in when we added 1.20.4 support).
  • Fixed warnings from the Sodium mod when loading the custom resource pack.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause Parkour Warrior Dojo's restart course button to not correctly update your spawn point.

A Note About the Economy 💵

[7] The-Yak.png

Thank you so much to everyone who’s been giving feedback regarding how the server’s economy feels to interact with and progress through.

I want to take a minute to note that while the economy may seem to switch around decently often, we feel we’re making very good progress towards finding out what works best, and sticking with it.

Several more economy updates addressing different issues in different areas of Island are already in progress, and we hope to roll them out soon.

Keep in mind we are still in a beta state, and testing is always what makes perfect, so we appreciate everyone playing the server, giving feedback, and helping us make Island the best it can be!

W patch as always
I never played when Silver was a thing, I started playing just after it was removed, but excited to see it back
(yay i have to update my document and spreadsheets)

Honestly a super W patch! I thought removing silver was a good idea when that change was made, but with everything that’s changed recently this patch looks super good.

I think this is a good change to simplify the economy, but please can we stop adding and removing currencys every update, it makes the economy hard for me to follow and I lose more interest in it whenever it happens. I get that its still beta but I just find it annoying thats all.

My view of the silver return:

The Good:
  • No quest spirits means a lot of time and slots saved (and coins prior to Milestones update :P), grinding for Spirit Shop stuff!
  • No KK tickets means some RNG has been eliminated from the server, which is a good thing, as you don't need to rely on luck as much to get what you want!
  • Relics buffed, giving considerably more coins than before, with some extra dust and blueprint XP on top!

The Bad:
* Currency pouches eliminated from the new Spirit Shop has also eliminated a valuable renewable source of gems. Gems are now more scarce than before, as only the pouch meter can reliably supply you with gems. Battle pass only gives whatever pouches you get within the 50 levels, plus any pouches you happen to get from the seasonal crate machine.

It is an overall good change for me, but I do have mixed feelings about the pouch changes.

o7 Spirit Shop....
but helllooo Silver Central!!

overall good economy update, especially giving more of an incentive to interact with the scavenger king stuff via the fusion of 2 systems is a big w
(still gonna miss the spirit vendor and the sprites for the spirit shop :( )

Hearing this for the first time does upset me. With the currency pouches there, gems were still difficult to get, but I knew I always had a somewhat decent way of getting Gems. With this change, getting gems feels even more grindy, and for a F2P player, getting the battlepass barely seems possible unless you save for years.
