Four new maps are dropping onto the Island today! Skybattle, TGTTOS and Battlebox are all getting exciting new maps to run, swim and fight through so let’s dive in and show you what to expect.
As usual, for the first two days of release, they will appear 50% of the time in the map pool for their specific game. After this period, the appearance rate for the maps will go back to normal!
Sky Battle: Valhalla
In Valhalla, you’ll find plenty of open terrain for intense close combat as well as high towers to conquer and parkour around! The initial fighting zone should give players who aren’t so comfortable with their block-placing skills a bit of a safety net to get stuck into the game and gather some gear before making their way into the central ring.
Creeper Damage Increase and Adjust
After the creeper egg nerf, we realised they were now weaker than we intended for combat purposes.
We've increased their damage to deal 9.5 hearts to players wearing starting armour. Of course, this damage decreases as you acquire better armour or use building blocks to block the explosion.
We've also expanded the range at which creepers can deal maximum damage. This should make using creepers more consistent and allow players to better estimate the amount of damage that will be dealt.
TGTTOS: Water Park
Swim, splash and slide your way through this obstacle course - Water Park is a favourite of ours that we have been saving for almost two years! Parkour across floating obstacles and take on those water slides to be the first to reach the chickens taking a dip at the end.
We really should have made them ducks for this map…
TGTTOS: Skydive
Another classic event map hits the Island! You’ll need to be very careful as you bridge across the void below, leaping onto the target platforms in a flurry to be the first to reach the final zone.
Battle Box: Pipes
Introducing the new Battle Box map - Pipes! This unique location has you fighting your way under, over and through a maze of pipes. Traverse the water elevators and jump across chains to get the best vantage point!
This update comes with a few quality-of-life tweaks also that you can check out in the patch notes.
